EHR Adoption Process:
Step 1: Learn basic details about EHRs.
[click to expand]Attend any of our free monthly Open House events, where you can learn about services at NYC REACH, the EHR adoption and implementation processes, and whether or not you qualify for Meaningful Use.
NYC REACH can help you set up demos with any of our partner vendors.
Step 2: Work with NYC REACH to assess EHR adoption at your practice.
[click to expand]An Outreach Specialist at NYC REACH will review the cost and benefit of the adoption process for your practice, review what to look for in an EHR, and help answer any questions you may have about EHRs.
Step 3: Once you are ready to adopt, identify an IT consultant.
[click to expand]NYC REACH has a list of recommended IT consultants who can provide you with office network assistance, configuring hardware and network infrastructure, cabling and wiring, and other technical components needed for successful implementation.

Step 4: Review all contracts and purchase your chosen EHR.
[click to expand]Once you have signed your vendor contracts, an Outreach Specialist will inform you of the next steps and how you can take advantage of our classes and services.
Purchasing an EHR with NYC REACH means that you will receive free integration with the city immunization registry, free lab bi-directional interfacing, and Meaningful Use preparation.
Step 5: Implement the EHR software.
[click to expand]You will be introduced to an Implementation Specialist, who will be your project manager and work with you to create a project plan for successful EHR implementation.

Step 6: Become an expert with your EHR

Follow our Meaningful Use curriculum to help you receive up to $44,000 for Medicare or $63,750 for Medicaid incentive payments.
