Meaningful Use
EHR Certification
Providers will need to use an EHR certified for Meaningful Use in order to receive the incentive payments. EHR vendors will apply for certification from organizations authorized by the Office of the National Coordinator for Health IT, located within the Department of Health and Human Services (HHS). These groups will test and certify that complete EHRs and EHR modules are compliant with the standards and implementation specifications necessary for Meaningful Use.
The current list of ONC Certified EHRs is available here: http://onc-chpl.force.com/ehrcert.
More than 1,000 products are now certified. To help you narrow down your search, NYC REACH has selected partner EHR vendors. Learn more about our partner vendors.
When you register for your Meaningful Use payments, you will need a CMS Certification ID for your EHR. You can find this number at the ONC official site. Download instructions to find the number here (Updated Feb. 7, 2011).
