NYC REACH Expands EHR Partner List with Eight More Vendors
NYC REACH, the federally funded Regional Extension Center overseen by the Primary Care Information Project at the NYC Health Department, has added eight more EHR vendors to its partner list, and now supports a total of 13 EHRs. By expanding the list of partner companies, the extension center offers personalized Meaningful Use support to a growing number of EHR users in New York City.
EHR vendors went through an open, competitive process and met strict requirements beyond the national Meaningful Use certification standards. After closely examining the companies and products, NYC REACH officials selected eight EHR systems: Amazing Charts, Criterions, CureMD, MedAZ, Office Practicum, OmniMD, Pulse, SOAPware.

On December 11, 2009, the Office of the National Coordinator for Health IT announced the first round of recipients for Regional Extension Center funding. The Primary Care Information Project (PCIP) was granted funds to establish a center for New York City.
Press Release: PCIP Panel Management Program
The Health Department's Primary Care Information Project (PCIP) announced the launch of a new program to help primary-care physicians combat preventable health problems in. Under the so-called Panel Management program, outreach specialists will work with physicians to identify patients in need of preventive health services, such as cholesterol management or blood pressure control, and encourage the patients to make appointments for care and treatment.
